I think the next iPhone released would be called iPhone 5
2007 - iPhone
2008 - iPhone 3G (instead of calling it iPhone 2 they wanted to promote that it had 3G speed capabilities)
2009 - iPhone 3GS (Want to call it iPhone 3, but used 3G, add S to avoid confusion
2010 - iPhone 4 (4th version)
2011 - iPhone 5
Fair enough. Just for fun, here's what I think it will be:
2007 - iPhone
2008 - iPhone 3G (promote the 3G capabilities)
2009 - iPhone 3GS (just a spec bump, so they give it the "S" designation)
2010 - iPhone 4 (a major revamp- use "iPhone 4" as a strong name to emphasize a "new generation" for iPhone)
2011 - iPhone 4S (just a spec bump, so they give it the "S" designation)
2012 - iPhone 4G (promote the 4G capabilities)
2013 - iPhone 7 (a major revamp- use "iPhone 7" as a strong name to emphasize a "new generation" for iPhone)
... and the cycle more or less repeats ;)

Booo! He worked for Microsoft, that means he knows nothing and that all of Microsofts "problems" will now surface on Apple devices. Unclean! UNCLEAN!!
From what I understand, there are smart and creative people at MS but the company is bloated and unorganized so it is unable to really utilize its people effectively.

I'm thing your ETA is off.
Way off.
Not really. We today have 64GB cards At the very high end, overwhelming majority of cards are in the 2-8GB range). Let's say that doubles next year to 128GB. Then to 256GB, then to 512GB and finally to 1TB. That would be four years, quite close to 5 years he speculated. And I don't think that the increases will be quite that fast.

The problem is, is that your government is saying things, then going back on it. Nothing is making much sense.
The woman killed in the incident turned out not to be bin Laden's wife.
Not my government, and in the spirit of action, details of someone's status in life can sometimes be miss-reported.
So what?

Right now I have a 24" white iMac with a 2.33 Ghz C2D and a 15" MacBook Pro with a 2.53 Ghz C2D. Both computers are great and work perfectly for what I do. The only problem is having two computers is overkill for me. Transferring files and apps is just too much of a hassle. What I'd like to do is get one of the new 13" MacBook Pros and get an external display to hook up when I'm using it at my desk. I just have a few questions. But first, let me tell you what I use my computer for: I do some web design and development, using CSSEdit, Espresso, Dreamweaver, Flash, Fireworks, Illustrator, Photoshop. I do some RAW photo editing using Aperture and Photoshop. I do a lot of casual web surfing, emailing, etc. I watch videos on Hulu. I'll be going to school in the fall for computer science, so I'll be doing some (or a lot) of...whatever it is they have me doing. I do absolutely no gaming. So, here are my questions:

He does have wine. Look at his right hand. It's just kinda blended in with the background.

If you can watch an HD movie over your satilite or cable system then somehow the cable or stilite company found a way to electronically distribute the HD content to you. That 25GB of data found a way to get into your house. Not only did it get into the huse but it did it in real time
This is quite different from on-demand hd download. Cable and satellite bandwidth is much greater than traditional internet and it's multicast.
However, for a 25GB movie you only need about a 4 MBPS to stream it (that is, start watching as soon as you start downloading). Most 5-6 MBPS dsl packages are available now for $35/mo, so it doesn't seem that far off.
I think Wal-mart wanted cheaper dvd prices to be more competitive with Target and now Target is trying to get the same treatment. The winning solution is that the studios will probably allow Wal-mart and Target to sell downloadable movies, too, and everyone will be happy except for Wal-mart who will still want cheaper dvd prices.
Truth is, the downloads are less than dvd quality, don't have extras, you need broadband internet and a fast computer or an iPod, and you can't wrap them up and give them as gifts. DVD's will continue to sell well even at a higher price (especially at Wal-mart and Target).

The past few days have been filled with tabloid speculation (http://www.macrumors.com/2011/02/16/steve-jobs-spotted-at-stanford-cancer-center/) about Steve Jobs' health, with reports pegging him as having visited Stanford Cancer Center in recent weeks, presumably to receive treatment. The tabloid speculation was somewhat countered by word that Jobs would join other Silicon Valley tech executives for a dinner (http://www.macrumors.com/2011/02/16/steve-jobs-to-meet-with-obama-on-thursday/) with President Barack Obama to discuss technology and innovation in the U.S. economy.

New day, same old issues.
In speeches, less emphasis on Bin Laden, and more focus on "evil-doers" in general.
That's too vague to sway the mindless masses. The Government will find someone else to demonize and have the public whipped into another bloodlust frenzy for his head. "The more thing changes, the more the stay the same," as the old saying goes.

Exacly what a friend of mine said when he got his new macbook and found out he needed to buy new adapters since in the 3 years they removed many (such as the analogue audio ports)
I don't understand this. Could you or someone explain this to me please?

Personally, I chose Verizon over AT&T simply because my new iPad 2 drops no calls. Love the reliability.
Um.. the iPad does NOT even make calls. How could it drop them to begin with? *duh*

50 billion out of a budget of what? A trillion and a bit?
I could remove 25% of your body weight and make you slim and sexy.
On the other hand, I could remove less than 2% of your body weight and render you a useless, comatose, vegetable.
It's not a matter of how much is cut as it is what is cut.

If you have a blank Mac because of a problem or HD upgrade, a network install image being sold outside the Mac App Store makes a lot more sense than Mac App Store distribution. OSes shouldn't be distributed in a store that requires an OS installation to even work.
That is what the USB stick is for! No need to download from anywhere. Don't cherry pick what you want to see and leave out the other options.
That's the point. You say it yourself, your machines still have DVD drives. What's the point of going to the more expensive USB drive option ? Again : CDs were cheaper than floppies to produce and were much quicker to mass produce. Going from optical to Flash memory is the opposite move, it makes the media both more expensive and much more complicated/long to duplicate in mass.
Saying we need DVD Drives just because all the machines out there (still) have DVD drives is a poor argument - following that we still would have floppies. I don't want a DVD drive in my next machine. I would need it only for reinstalling the OS (which on MacOS I actually never had to do, but worst case it might be needed). Actually I won't have a DVD in my next machine since it will be the MBA. The future is here.
And if you see the whole picture (distribution, shipping, storage, ...) I doubt that a read-only chip on a USB stick is much more expensive - and you save on all new machines the cost for the DVD drive and can use the space for better things. If it is so much more expensive, why does the cheapest Apple laptop come with a USB stick instead of DVD? Yes it might be a tiny bit more expensive.
As an Air user with such a thumb drive let me tell you this : their design is pure crap and it is not quite as convenient as a real thumb drive. It also tends to get all scratched up when inserting it and removing it because it lacks the proper guides for the USB port.
How often to you reinstall your OS that you keep inserting and removing it and scratching it all up? It should be a cheap stick (not good for anything else) that just sits 99.99999% of its time in the shelf. It's not that this is meant as a 'free Apple branded USB Stick' that you use all the time.

After reading the MS Tech-Net Flash, I get weekly, and how my company will have to license Vista/Office neither will be purchased. It is now my mission to have a ~90% Apple environment (1200 plus users) by 2010. I have already introduced Mini's in place of thin clients. They are a huge hit. If Apple stays on course, they CAN make big inroads into corporate markets they have not had before. Vista....who cares.

OK.
We'll leave it there and get back to that after Apple's official press release one day.
