OK, so to recap:

I can leave my SSD as is (that is, I can continue to choose to boot from that and have it run Snow Leopard).

I can installed Lion on the Hard Disk and choose to boot from that if I want.

Question: If my home folder is stored on the Hard Disk for when I run Snow Leopard with the SSD, how do I prevent home folder complications when I install Lion on the Hard Disk? Don't want it to mess up the snow leopard experience.

I got some relief from a similar problem when I set my mail to check for new mail less often than I had previously set it. Seems some servers don't like it when you access too often. I'm at every 5 minutes now, with no problems. Maybe this would work for you?

Awesome. I know two developers (actually, the iPhone teachers at my college) who went, but were interested in multiple sessions running at the same time. This made their day.

Too bad the person stung by the 2 hornets didn't already have his iPhone 4. I'm almost certain that the new iPhone would contain some kind of antidote that would have been very helpful. I guess we will all just have to wait for Thursday!

Is everyone with an iPhone going to download iOS 4 tom and test I out or are you guys going to wait for Thursday?
I am going to wait until Wednesday night or Thursday. As soon as the new phone is in my hand, I am going to ship my 3g to the new owner (they did not want the new software on the phone)

So, I will back up my stuff on the phone, erase all my stuff on it and have it ready for the new owner. Then I will download the new software

I'm on the mac and I was trying DiscAid and iPhone Explorer, PhoneView and all of them are showing that iPhone is passcode locked. I know the passcode but while screen was broken she put this so many times that now it doesn't even let you put passcode it just asks for iTunes.
Hate to be the bearer of bad news but...
If you simply see the 'Connect to iTunes' with a USB plug and the iTunes icon, its more than likely that she had the option to 'erase content after 10 failed passcode attempts' checked when she set up her passcode. By entering the code so many times she may have inadvertently deleted the pics herself... along with everything else.
I hope this isn't the case and that she does get her photos back but if you connect it to iTunes and the only option is to restore there may not be anything left on the phone already...

In OS X you can literally control just about any aspect of the the operating system via terminal. I would argue that an expert *nix user has more "unrestricted control" over OS X than an expert windows user can have under XP.

I can include one Zip 100 disc with jewel case. The drive is a Zip 250 from Iomega, a nice blue plastic like the iMac G3s and in mint condition. I think it has USB and SCSI, not sure though. Make me an offer that includes shipping for the drive and disc.

Its called Beatles Anthology. Basically The complete Beatles story on 5 DVD's. Interviews with Paul, John, George, and Ringo, concert footage, etc. If you're a hardcore Beatles fan like I am, I recommend it highly

i decided to go ahead and buy a current edition MBA....I think the only thing that I want in a new release would be thunderbolt as that could be amazingly useful especially since laptops nowadays don't have express card slots anymore except the 17"....

Todays model is a great value especially refurbished and will last years for its purpose...

I know I can get away with using any Apple computer, but when you are spending your $$$ and you frequent rumor sites...you tend to want to see updates at the right time...not after you buy. I will buy regardless of if Apple updates the iBook or TiBook in the next month.

Get tapatalk if you have an iPhone or iPod touch. It's much easier to deal with the subscriptions this way. I would never take the time out to check them on a computer.

Hi all,

Just curious to see how many have a apple laptop and and Ipad. Work just bought me a MBP last week and I already have a Ipad 2. Just trying to justify the two, maybe I sell the ipad 2 because I have to keep the laptop. By the way, I love both of them...I use the Ipad 2 for reading books, magazines etc...

I am new to photography and recently returned from a trip to Costa Rica where I practiced a lot of my newly learned knowledge. I went through my photos and here is one that I thought was one of the better shots.

I was curious to see what others think? Is this a good photo or just an amateur shot? I used a Nikon D60. I can take the criticism so lets hear it. :D

I have an ATT iphone and the Trim fits perfectly. I also run with my phone and it fits fine in my Belkin armband w/o removing the case. I also like that the case comes with a dock insert. So far it has been the perfect case for me
