I hope this is standard on ios5. It is pretty rediculous for the data to be there and yet the ipad doesnt use it
if they do include that feature in ios5, i'm sure they'll require an ipad 3 to be able to use it.

Now, iMac is at 15 hours. I do a weekly restart on it. My Windows 2008 server is running strong, 218 days. Would be longer, but I think it turned off because my battery UPS protector wasn't able to last very long. Only about 5 mins or so and the power was out longer. :(

This may sound totally obvious, but spend time on YouTube. There are a lot of folks people your age doing cool stuff and putting it on YouTube (Lucas Cruikshank aka "Fred" being one obvious, and rather obnoxious, example). Not all of it is good, and some of it is frankly terrible, but you quickly get a sense of what's cool and what's not (for example, YouTube seems to have popularized the disjointed jump cut.) You can take inspiration from the stuff that's done well, and learn from the bad stuff too by taking note of what they did wrong and how you would have done it differently.

It is a bad situation. When he didnt want to do paypal or ebay etc you should have immediately moved on. On another forum we call that deal too good to be true...because it aint.

OMG what is hard to understand? Either a new book bag or a case. I don't want another freaking messenger bag. I already have that (as I stated in the first post and re-iterated in my first reply).
Seriously people, I appreciate the help but read before you rush to hit the reply button. Even if you completely ignore my repeated comments that I don't want another messenger bag (either a BOOK bag or CASE), you're suggesting a bag for the 11" MBA when I said in the title I have a 13". Why not just tell me what kind of car you drive instead, it's about an equally worthless piece of information (in regards to this thread).

I love them both.. i get hiped up 2 wweeks before macworld and just go nuts and just sit on the computer and get all the information and rumors about them i love it!!!:apple::apple:

I wonder if we're finishing early because my lecturer is as excited as we are... maybe he's a secret Mac fan

I suggest you make some wild and unsubstantiated claims about Macs and PC's or something similar to get it started with a nice big flame-war.

There's no difference between these two bits of code in "calling it directly". Both syntaxes are directly calling the function. Do you understand how return values work?

Honestly you'd be better off buying an intel mac mini, even the oldest intel one you could find would be better than the Powermac.
If you don't want to do that though, choose the Powermac. These things last forever so you won't need to replace the computer for a long time.
Only if it was an Intel Core 2 Duo based Mac Mini, since it looks like the Intel Core Duo Minis are being left behind with Lion, and they only just about equal most G5s anyway. Personally Id go with either a Core 2 Duo Mini, or a PowerMac G5 Air-Cooled <2.5Ghz I believe... since IIRC the 2.3s pretended to be but werent liquid cooled. Dual PowerPC G5s at 2.0/2.3 Ghz will still have some number crunching power for a while yet.

Just to put my exrierence out there i had, yours look like an exact picture of mine and then i when i sent mine in to get the screen fixed they would not do it due to the fact that the damage could be down in the logic board. So i ended up paying the 250 for the replacement.

Good thread, I'm also fairly obsessed with tagging and artwork :D
Mine are sorted into 5 genres and then use groupings as a kind of sub genre.
Anything that has a featured artist is put into the comments field (I think it looks so much cleaner than if it's "Song Name (Ft. Some Artist)")
All Bonus Tracks, B-Sides and Music Videos are set to Disc 2 and have no track number and are unchecked so they don't carry on playing once the album is finished. They also have comments saying which single the B-Side came from etc.
As much as I love iTunes I find it quite frustrating as it could be so much better. I'd love to be able to tag each song with multiple genres, as you said it can be hard to lump them into one category. And I wish you could "tag" a song with a music video, so instead of having two entries for "The Dead Dog", you'd just have the song within the album and have the little video icon on the right, which you'd click if you want to watch the video (if that makes sense!) :D
And while I'm at it... year, record label, and country of origin in the album artwork column please :P

So that's why $30 seems fairly reasonable from a UK point of view.
Well... from my point view anyway.
It IS a reasonable price to protect your 1GB Shuffle. People are protective of their Apple kit, because it is designed so well. They want to preserve the look, even if it costs a little extra. $30 is still way cheaper than replacing your Shuffle because of scuffs and scratches on the case.
And besides, it's blue, to boot... ;)

i just upgraded my ipod touch and also had to restore a couple of times. apparently if you restore from a backup, it causes problems with the new jailbreak... can anyone confirm that? i ended up having to set up as a new (so i lost all settings and game saves) to get some jailbroken apps to work.
I'm running 4.2.1 now. What new features does 4.3.1 have over 4.2.1? I wasn't able to find anything really substantial.
